Did you know that you can rent a movie theater for a private showing? Renting a movie theater is the most fun activity we have done during the past year. As one of the industries hit hardest by the pandemic, many theaters are staying alive by offering private rentals. Here is a list of the theaters offering this awesome service.
O’Neil Cinemas
This is a brand new cinema with locations in Littleton, MA as well as Epping, NH. Big comfy chairs that fully recline, huge screens and state of the art sound make this our favorite theater in New England. Click here to read all about our experience renting out O’Neil Cinema.

Showcase Cinemas
There are locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York and Ohio offering private theater rentals.
Fee for bring back movies: $99 in regular theater ($199 at Showcase SuperLux)
Fee for new releases: $199 in regular theater ($299 at Showcase SuperLux)

AMC
This is a huge movie theater chain with locations across the country. Most of their theaters are open to the public again, but the seating capacity for each showtime is 40% (or less based on municipality guidelines) to allow for social distancing as part of the AMC Safe & Clean initiative. You can also do a private theater rental at all of their locations.
Fee: Choose from a selection of new movies, starting at $149+tax, or fan faves films for just $99+tax
People allowed: 20
Concessions open: At most theaters, yes. Due to some state and local mandates, some theaters may not be able to offer concessions because masks are required to be worn at all times.
West Boylston Cinema
Fee: Rental is a flat fee: $90.00 Cash / $100.00 Credit
People allowed: Group sizes will be determined by the Governors rules pertaining to the number of people allowed to gather at the time of your showing.
