LEGOLAND New York Review: Complete Guide for First-Time Visitors
If you are planning a family trip, this LEGOLAND New York review will help you prepare for what to expect. From saving money to avoiding long lines, these tips will help you make the most of your visit.
LEGOLAND New York is located in Goshen, New York, about one hour from Manhattan and roughly three hours from central Massachusetts. It is a full-scale theme park and resort designed with younger kids in mind.
This colorful, brick-filled wonderland is ideal for kids ages 2–12. While it is possible to visit in one day, we chose to stay for two nights at the LEGOLAND Resort so we could take our time. Traveling with three kids, having that extra downtime made the experience much more enjoyable.
Is LEGOLAND New York Worth It?
Let’s be honest, LEGOLAND isn’t cheap. Our two-day visit, plus a two-night stay at the resort for our family of five, totaled around $1,500.
What surprised me most was the cost inside the park. Food, drinks, and souvenirs add up quickly, and this ended up being the most stressful part of our trip. With a little more planning, it could have been avoided, which is why I am sharing these tips in this LEGOLAND New York review.
That said, LEGOLAND New York is absolutely worth it. We had such a fun trip and the kids were completely in their element the entire time. Between the rides, the interactive experiences, and the themed hotel, it really does feel like a full LEGO world. If you go in prepared, these tips will help you avoid the stress and focus on what matters most, which is having an amazing time with your family.

LEGOLAND New York Review: Tips to Make the Most of Your Visit
1. Arrive early and have a plan
Getting to the park right at opening makes a big difference. Have your tickets ready on your phone and head straight to the most popular rides first. You will avoid the longest lines this way.
2. Be prepared for sun and heat
One thing that stood out in this LEGOLAND New York review is how little shade there is in the park. If you are visiting in the summer, bring hats, sunscreen, and refillable water bottles. There are water stations throughout the park, which helps.
3. Budget ahead for food and drinks
Food costs can sneak up on you quickly. Drinks alone were surprisingly expensive, and it adds up fast with kids. Packing snacks and using refillable water bottles helped us cut down on spending.
For lunch, Brickbeard’s Food Market in the LEGO Pirates area had the best variety and more reasonable options for kids.
4. Skip the carnival games
The carnival-style games are tempting, but they are expensive and difficult to win. We spent money quickly and walked away empty-handed. It is one of the few things I would skip entirely.
5. Don’t bring cash
LEGOLAND New York is completely cashless. Be sure to bring a credit card or have a mobile payment option ready.
6. Visit during the week if possible
We noticed a big difference between Friday and Saturday crowds. If your schedule allows, a weekday visit will make your experience much smoother.
7. Bring minifigures to trade
One of the most fun parts of the trip was trading LEGO minifigures. There are official trading stations, but you can also trade with employees wearing minifigs on their name tags. This was a highlight for my kids.
8. Shop for exclusive LEGO sets
The Big Shop carries exclusive sets you cannot find elsewhere. If you are planning to buy something special, this is the place to do it.
Final Thoughts on This LEGOLAND New York Review
Overall, we had a fantastic experience. The park is incredibly fun for younger kids, and staying at the resort added an extra layer of excitement.
The biggest takeaway from this LEGOLAND New York review is to plan ahead, especially when it comes to food, budget, and timing. With a little preparation, you can avoid the common stress points and focus on enjoying your time together.
If you are traveling with kids who love LEGO, LEGOLAND New York is absolutely worth visiting. Just go in with a plan, and you will have a great trip.
