A Magical Visit to The Good Witch of Salem

Location: Salem, Massachusetts

The Good Witch of Salem empowers children with her message of self-growth, self-love, and self-awareness, weaving magic into learning through captivating content. This beautiful witch, dressed in all pink, welcomes kids to her store where they can participate in all sort of fun and magical activities. I signed Lizzie up for a witch transformation. Salem, Massachusetts is a bucket list destination during the month of October. People come from all over the world to experience “Haunted Happenings” in the city famous for the witch trials of 1692. People dress up in costumes worthy of Hollywood and walk around for photo ops. For little kids, it can be a bit too spooky. When I heard about The Good Witch of Salem, which is geared towards younger children, I knew I had to bring my kids.

Witch Transformation

Lizzie was so excited perusing the whimsical Good Witch store. The first step was picking out a witch hat. There were many to choose from and they are each named after a famous witch as a way to honor them. Lizzie chose the Bridget Bishop hat… or much like Harry Potter’s sorting hat… did the hat choose her?

Next, she shopped for a cape and even picked out an accessory that every witch needs, a broom. When the Good Witch appeared, Lizzie was instantly captivated by her. Her transformation began with some make up and a fun hair extension. Her face was adorned with gems and glitter.

While it was all adorable, my favorite part was the pep talk the Good Witch gave Lizzie. She explained that make up was just for fun because she was already beautiful on the inside and out. Listening to them chat was so sweet.

When it was time for the big reveal, they turned to the mirror and put her witch hat on. The big smile on Lizzie’s face was priceless. The Good Witch then talked to her about affirmations and crystals, even letting her pick out her favorite crystal to bring home.

We purchased the book by The Good Witch so that she could sign it. It made a great memory that she can flip through at home.

Mixing Magic Potions with The Good Witch of Salem

After her witch transformation was complete, we moved on to the Potion Bar. The boys were so excited to try their hand at making magic. They chose a spell card and picked out the ingredients they needed to make their potions. The mixed things like moon dust, special charms and elixirs to create their own concoction.

The Good Witch of Salem has so many fun events and activities such as costume balls, broom decorating and Taylor Swift themed potion parties. These special events sell out quickly, so be sure to book early.

We loved our morning appointment because Lizzie got to walk around Salem looking like an adorable little witch. People recognized the Good Witch pink all over town and would shout hello to her.

The Good Witch shop is right across the street from the Witch House of Salem as well as Allison’s house from Hocus Pocus. It’s a great place to snap some pictures after their transformation!
