Ellen’s Stardust Diner Reviews

A Stage Before the Stage

Ellen’s Stardust Diner has long been a stepping stone for aspiring Broadway stars. The waitstaff here, known as “Stardusters,” are talented performers who often move on to the bright lights of Broadway. Many of them have dreams as big as Times Square itself, and their performances are a testament to their passion and dedication.

As you enjoy your meal, these waiters and waitresses belt out show tunes and pop hits turning the diner into a live performance venue.

The Vibe

Walking into Ellen’s Stardust Diner feels like stepping back in time to the 1950s. The red vinyl booths and vintage memorabilia create an atmosphere that’s both nostalgic and fun.

It’s a high-energy environment where the servers double as entertainers, often using props and dancing through the aisles. Kids and adults alike will find themselves clapping and singing along.

The Menu

The menu at Ellen’s Stardust Diner is as classic as its decor. Expect to find diner staples like burgers and milkshakes, alongside a few modern twists. My crew was so excited to learn that they serve breakfast all day.

The portions are generous—perfect for fueling up before a day of sightseeing. For kids, there’s a dedicated menu with options like chicken tenders and grilled cheese. And for parents, the coffee flows as freely as the music.

Our experience

For families, Ellen’s Stardust Diner offers a rare combination of entertainment and dining that keeps everyone engaged. If you can’t get tickets to a Broadway show, this is a great second option. I had requested Defy Gravity and was blown away when my petite little waitress got up and belted it out. She was incredible.

Lizzie was hoping to hear anything by her favorite singer, Sabrina Carpenter. When a waitress came out singing Espresso, she lit up. The waitress could see her singing along and came over and handed the microphone to Lizzie.

I almost died when my little 8 year old sang along with her in front of 100 total strangers. That is a memory that will stay with me forever.
