Easily my five year old’s favorite assignment yet… we traveled to New Hampshire to experience the longest candy counter in the world!
Chutters is located on the Main Street of Littleton. There is a second location in Lincoln, New Hampshire as well but it does not have the claim to fame that this one has.
This candy counter is 112 feet long which earned them a listing in the Guinness book of World’s Records. There are over 600 jars of candy and no two are the same.
My kids loved getting their little brown bag and filling it up with sugary treats. My daughter’s favorite was the M&M vending machine that dispensed any color M&M you could ever imagine. With her ongoing pink obsession, seeing her favorite candy in her favorite color just about blew her mind.
Besides the endless candy jars, there is also homemade fudge made fresh in the store.
There are also many gifts and local souvenirs to bring home besides the cavities that my kids collected.
If you are skiing at Bretton Woods, they actually have a seasonal pop up store at the top of the mountain. How cool is that!
Chutters has been in operation since the late 1800s and is not going anywhere. There is something so nostalgic about an old penny candy store. It doesn’t matter how old you are, they second you step inside, you are a kid again. Chutters is just that kind of place.
