The Best Things to Do in the Boston Seaport

1. Visit the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA)

Art lovers shouldn’t miss the ICA, Boston’s hub for cutting-edge contemporary art. The striking glass building sits right on the waterfront, and inside, you’ll find rotating exhibits featuring some of the most innovative artists working today. The museum also hosts performances, film screenings, and other events throughout the year.

I love bringing my kids here just to show them that art can be anything they dream of. There is also an art lab where kids and adults can make their own creation and a little scavenger hunt like booklet to engage children.

Lastly, I have to mention how awesome their gift store is. From unique items to my daughter’s beloved Jellycats, we could come here just for the shopping experience!

3. Boston Children’s Museum

One of the best places in the city for young kids, the Boston Children’s Museum has been sparking creativity and curiosity for over 100 years. With interactive exhibits on science, art, and culture, this is a place where kids can learn through play.

The Boston Children’s Museum is designed for kids up to age 9, with a strong focus on early childhood development. It also features a dedicated PlaySpace just for children ages 0–3.

Where to Stay in the Boston Seaport

We loved our stay at the Hyatt Place Boston Seaport District. This hotel is a modern, affordable option in one of the city’s most exclusive (=expensive) neighborhoods. Located right across from the Pavilion and less than a 10-minute walk from many top attractions, it offers easy access to the best of the waterfront.

Guests enjoy spacious rooms—some with harbor views—complimentary breakfast, a rooftop terrace, and a convenient location that makes it a smart choice for both families and business travelers.

We booked our stay on points and were even graced with a very early check in. The kids loved watching the planes land at Boston Logan from our window.
