The Burlap Bee is offering great online art classes for kids. There are daytime classes for homeschoolers as well as an after school program.
With my kids currently being homeschooled, I was looking for a way to supplement their art lessons. There are only so many times you can put paper and crayons on the table and call it art class!
Many schools have cut their art programs all together, so this could be a great option for parents.
The Burlap Bee is all about flexibility, which is what I need in my life right now. You can choose whichever class you want to attend each week based on your child’s interests and what works best for your family.
We paid $80 for the entire 8 week session, but you can also pay $10 for a drop in class. The great thing is that those prices are per household, not per child. It really helps to keep things affordable for larger families.
Burlap Bee also sells art kits for $40 which are recommended so that your child has all of the supplies that they need. We picked up ours and were really glad we did. The kit is chock full of art materials that they will have so much fun discovering.
Each session Burlap Bee has a different theme and each day of the week will use a different technique. For example, one day will be drawing, another day will be painting, and another is mixed media. That way your child can choose their class based on a specific interest or experiment with something new.
My boys attended on experimental art day and made a stained glass window transparency which they then drew a cathedral around. While they were creating, they learned about architecture and the Romanesque time period.
Miss Jenna was great at engaging the kids and inspiring them to be creative. The kids were able to ask questions and share what they made with the class. They were so proud of what they made.
Spark your child’s creativity with art classes for kids. The Burlap Bee is such a great option, I only wish I had found it sooner. Things are ever-changing with our schedule and I love that her plans afford us the flexibility we need.
