Once upon a time, in a land far away, we discovered one of the most unique Airbnb Berkshires stays imaginable. Staying in the Enchanted Tiny Tower at Santarella Gardens felt like stepping into a real-life fairytale.
When my husband turned 40, I wanted to plan something special, unique, and romantic. He is nearly impossible to surprise, so I knew I needed an experience that was completely out of the ordinary. Santarella Gardens delivered exactly that.

From the moment you arrive, this Airbnb Berkshires property feels like a storybook come to life. The grounds are filled with whimsical buildings, starting with the iconic gingerbread house. With its wave-like roof and stained-glass windows, it looks like something straight out of a classic fairytale.
The gingerbread house was designed in the 1920s by English sculptor Sir Henry Hudson Kitson, best known for creating the Lexington Minuteman and Plymouth Rock Maiden statues.
Santarella Gardens became his passion project, where he spent the last 25 years of his life.
The Enchanted Tiny Tower Experience
After walking along a winding path past the gingerbread house, we arrived at our Airbnb Berkshires rental, the Enchanted Tiny Tower.
From the moment we stepped inside, the space felt cozy and unique. The silo-style studio includes a small sitting area with a television, a bathroom with a shower, and a small dining space beside a picture window.
There is also a coffee station with a Keurig and everything you need for your morning cup, along with a kitchenette that includes a sink, refrigerator, and microwave.
The owners, Josh and Shaun, made this Airbnb Berkshires stay even more special with a warm welcome that included a chilled bottle of local wine and chocolates.
A spiral staircase leads up to the bedroom, where a canopy bed sits beneath a stunning 35-foot conical ceiling. The large mill windows overlook the gardens, making this Airbnb Berkshires stay feel peaceful and completely removed from everyday life.

Exploring Santarella Gardens
One of the highlights of this Airbnb Berkshires stay is simply exploring the property. The manicured grounds feature walking paths, a stone bridge, a lily pond, and a large outdoor fireplace.

After dinner in nearby Lenox, we returned to the tower for the night. Lenox has plenty of great restaurants, and we enjoyed a meal at Bistro Zinc, but the most memorable part of the evening happened back at Santarella Gardens.
As we settled into bed, we noticed flashes of light outside the window. At first, we thought it was just one or two fireflies. Then suddenly, the entire meadow lit up.
There were thousands of fireflies glowing in the darkness. We ran outside and watched in awe as they filled the field. It was as if nature put on a firework display and it was mesmerizing. It became one of the most magical travel moments we have ever experienced.
